  1. Hi all,
I was hopping someone can help me.
I have a wave file that has a high pitched "wheeeee" sound and I'm having trouble getting removing it. I've been trying to use cool edit pro, but I'm not very experienced with it. I've tried the hiss removal, noise removal, ect. I was thinking that the hiss seems like its a very high pitch. I was thinking maybe If I could cut off all freq. above a certain level that might work. But I don't know how to do this. I've tried, with no success.

    All help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Kevin

go to syntrillium.com and get the noise reduction tutorial. the basics are this. open file. check noise reduction in cool edit. make a sample of the wheeze. close noise reduction. reoopen noise reduction and use the wheeze sample and apply to entire file. all wheeze will be removed. much better results than cutting your frequency.
