Hey all, I picked up the TDKs on sale at Target this AM and noticed they have a much lighter dye than the verbatims, Memorex, Ritex, etc. What is the difference and is there a real difference? Is one generally more compatible with a stand alone player? If so, which one should a person be using? Thanks for the help.

Hey,
My guess is they're using a new dye chemistry (which is good)
All I can say is try the discs out on all the standalones your other discs play on and see how they perform.

What you can see makes no difference.

The 4x discs seem to all have a lighter dye from what I have seen.
