I can only get to the third step of the dvd rip tutorial. Once i get to the TMPGenc part it says it doesnt support the fiel type. I installed that other update i believe and it is unzipped to the same folder as the TMPGenc. What can i do?

So you're saying you can't open the D2V file in TMPGenc? Do you have the dvd2avi.vfp file in your DVD2AVI and/or TMPGenc dir? Did you install the VFAPI pulgin and codec?

If so, run TMPGenc, click on Options | Environmental settings. Then click on the VFAPI Plugin tab. Raise the priority of the DVD2AVI.vfp project file reader and try again.

Oh, and don't delete the VOB files. DVD2AVI creates a D2V (video) and wav (audio) file. But the D2V file is actually just a link to the VOB files. No actually video data.

thanks, helped a lot i was getting the tmpg vfp file confused with the dvd2 avi file
