    Is it just me or does air scratch these things

    I keep them in their jewel cases and scratches magically appear.

  2. I Don't know if it's by magic, but I think the drive themselfs somehow scratch it, lets not forget we do put the CDR's on a surface of some kind in the CD/DVD drives and spin them in high velocities.

    Personaly I think there should not be any touching surface. but some sort of a grabbing middle section, like in portable Audio CD Players, and that should help avoid scratches.

  3. Try some DVD Cases. You can be sure that no part of the your DVD/CD media every touches anything with DVD Cases. Only drawback, they are bulkier than regular jewel cases.
