Is there any way to find out the ending size of a dvd after the streams and lang are removed?

    For example Bourne Identity.

The main movie is 6.52 GB

Using dvd2one or clonedvd just resizes it to fit a dvd-r.

I used ifoedit to remove the streams and extras and came to 5.40 GB

Is there any way or program to find out that its 5.40 GB without all this ripping? I would like to know which movies actually fit on a dvd-r without transcoding and which don't. DVD2one or CloneDVD don't tell you.

  2. Hi,

You can use DVDtoolbox (www.dvdtoolbox.de) and it will show the ending file size after removing stuff.

Instant Copy actually show the size of the stream (but i don't believe it can be use to strip the movie without reencode...)

DVDShrink will show you the size of your resulting DVD as you remove material. Actually, I like it specifically for that very purpose and as far as I know, it's the only one to let you (easily) crop the beginning and ending of the movie so you don't have to do any compression in the end (Some say DVD2one does a better job at compressing and I won't argue, but I've come across movies that DVD2one would have to compress and DVDShrink allowed me to remove the credits - which were very long - so I actually did a "main movie" DVD with no compression.)
