    Anyone tested it yet?

How does it compare to previous versions?

    Version 1.2.0 (June 18, 2003)
New engine with constant compression ratio for better image quality in long movies (2 1/2 hours and more).
Pre-scanning of files for better estimation of destination size in Full Disk Copy mode.
Detection of encrypted data is now restricted to the data DVD2one actually uses. This should prevent this error to pop up on homebrew dvd's and unprotected originals.
Removal of unused padding data in the videostream.
Japanese translation added for all honoured Japanese customers. Works only with Windows 2000 and XP.

  9. im having a problem with the serial as well, it says that if i have a serial from after v 1.1 something or other that i dont need a new one.
when i do ask for a new one i get the same serial i already have.
but it still wont take. just keeps going back to evaluation.
    anyone having this problem?

If you have a previous version installed, It should already have your name on it at the start up screen - just start program.

What's with the wierd new font they use?
    Regards,

  14. I just did a quick 5min test using Boogie Nights as the source.

FYI- I usually do movie-only, and adjust the size to somewhere between 2300-2800 depending on length and get good quality with 1.13

I tried this using v 1.13 and v 1.2 with the destination size set at 2500 for both.

1.13 gave me an eta of ~35min

1.2 gave me an eta of ~110min using constant ratio setting
and 34min on variable ratio setting

1.13 gave me a nice quality pic, on par with a real good svcd encode (which is what I typically aim for). [Just a note: I encoded the entire movie the other night at this setting, and the quality held up for the full duration]

1.2 (variable ratio) was close to 1.13 in terms of quality, but I noticed more mblocks in the video. Not much, but still there.

1.2 (constant ratio) gave me a really bad pic, on par with the worst divx encodes I've seen (macroblock city all over the place).

One of the biggest advantages that D2O has over other transcoders is it's speed/quality ratio.

I think they've lost that advantage, at least with the new constant ratio setting.

Personally, I'm staying with 1.13 for now. I'll be running more tests, though, so that may change in the near future....

    AIR.

Just for the record I had no problem using it. As soon as I CLICK on it the start up screen already had my name on it. I didn't have to enter my serial number or anything like that.

I have it in the same DIR as the last two versions. Could that be the trick?

  18. Maybe that particular serial # was blacklisted for some reason. Just email the authors of the software.
