  1. My problem is this:
Before I encode a dvd, I first clean it and then use dvd decrypter to extract the dvd. I then use pinnacle's instant copy to compress the dvd from dvd-9 to dvd-5. mean while none of the programs give me an error.
There is a 50/50 chance that there will be digital hits in the movie I just compressed.
Are the digital hits from the original dvd itself, can dvd decrypter be causing the hits or can pinnacle's instant copy cause the hits?

or is there a better way of encoding the dvd's
    Please Help
    Corey

You going to have to explain what a "Hit" is.

Ah, could be a number of things. Could in some cases be the media being used, it could also be the encoder, or it could be its just being encoded way to small.

Try either playing with your settings, trying different media, reinstalling the software, or give DVD2ONE and/or DVDShrink a try. See what helps. DVD Shrink is free if that helps any.

  5. could be bad decrypting by dvddecryptor. try using another ripper, like smartripper, or maybe even update to the latest dvddecryptor.

    also, try burning at 1x....

lastly, do the "hits" show up when you play in your computer dvd-rom, or just in your standalone dvd player?

Not saying it couldn't happen but I've never seen Decrypter do so badly, I think its a pretty far out chance. But anything is possible.

  7. My guess it's your DVD player. Do you see the same thing if you play the copy on your computer with WinDVD or PowerDVD? Have you tried the disc on other players?
