  1. I've been trying to work my way through the guide and am having a lot of problems, wondering if anyone might be able to assist me? I'm trying to use the methods on the Sopranos Season one dvd set

Here's what I've been doing and my questions.

1.) Pretty self explanatory, I'm using DVD Decrypter in file mode to rip all eight .vob files to my hard drive.

2.) I then use Ifo Edit to create ifo files for these, I select 1 pgc only but on the right side there are two options and I'm not sure which one to pick. Either, create chapter for each cell or create chapter for first cell only of each PGC. I navigate to where the first vob of the title set is that I ripped and select same directory for output of the ifo files.

3.) After the ifo files are created I then use dvd2one. I navigate to the directory with vobs and newly created ifos. Where it says copy mode, am I supposed to leave this as movie-only or change to full disk? I then select a different destination folder to keep the files that dvd2one creates seperate. The sopranos disks don't have any subtitles and as far as selecting the 192kbps stream like you say I'm assuming by that you mean the stereo stream (sorry I'm a bit new at all of this). I've tried using both that stream and even the Dolby 5.1 stream.

4.) After this I DVD2one takes the 8 vobs that I originally ripped and outputs 5 vobs to a new directory. I open up vobedit and navigate to the first vob of new set and have it output to a new directory again. Selecting to demux "cell id" and "complete title set".

5.) Vobedit outputs about 30 seperate vob files, I sort through them and take say vob 1-7 (the first episode), in DVTool I then select "merge files" under the file section. I then select the "add element" button to add each of the 7 vob files, the sort elements button is selected by default. After they are all selected and in the window I select where to output the file to and start.

6.) I then take the new vob that this creates and use simple demux in tmpgencoder and demux it into .m2v and .ac3 streams.

7.)After this I then try to import into spruceup and always get a GOP out of sequence error. What am I doing wrong? Is there some combination of settings that I'm missing?

    Please help

  3. Well could you at least provide some suggestions of alternate ways to do this in a good quality and retain all four episodes per disc?
