    Alright, I have a DivX4 avi and in the properties it says the audio is AC3. When i load it up into TMPEGENC and click start, the program locks up and crashes. I know it has something to do with the audio because if I choose to encode video only it works fine.

    I downloaded AC3 Filter so I'm able to watch the avi. I also changed the environmental setting on DirectShow to 1. Is there something I have to do with the AC3 filter to makeit work with TMPEGENC? Or should I try a Goldwave thing to extract audio or whta?

    extract/convert the audio first to wav

    Goldwave will extract and convert AC3 to wav, then use the wav as the audio source.
