Hi all, this is my first post but have been watching the forum for ages and usally get all my answers here or on the excellent guides but have come across a problem have done a seach but no luck. The problem is when trying to extract the audio out of a avi with vituldub it says it needs the "vidio for windows" codec, have looked on the tools section but cannot find anything, can anybody point me in the right directon.

VDUB uses the older driver standard called 'Video for Windows' or VFW. Most newer software uses WDM drivers or 'Window Device Multimedia' ( that's a WAG guess).
Basically VDUB is telling you it doesn't have the drivers, as opposed to the codec. Try Goldwave or AVI2WAV.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
