  1. I cant seem to create a svcd no matter what i do. I have no
problems creating vcds tho. what happens is, I cap a movie using 640X480 uncompressed avi, then use tmpeg to convert it to a mpg-2. I use the default scvd nofilm template on nero. next i use nero 5.5.4.0 and use the supervideo template. nero doesnt complain at all about the mpg-2 that
I use to create the scvd. It always finishes succesfully, but the resault is always the same, I take that svcd and load it into my apex-703, and it gets as far as displaying the time of the track but If I press play it skips to next cd. I have also tried playing that same cd on a stand alone pc with windvd, but i get similar results. If i use windvd to open up the mpg-2 file before it was converted to scvd, it will play just fine, so I dont think its the mpg file giving me trouble. I also tried capping the video using virtualdub and avi-io, and Iv tried converting the mpg to a bin file using VCDImagerEasy v1.0.0 but no matter what combo I use it doesnt make a playable svcd for me. Any ideas?

  2. hmm, if it doesn't play with windvd, then it's not your standalone dvd player's problem... hmm. have you tried playing the avseq00.mpg from the mpeg2 directory on your cd in windvd's file mode? if it plays fine, then your svcd authoring was messed up. if it doesn't play, then something went haywire in your burning, as your source mpg played fine.

try doing the video and audio seperately in tmpgnec, then muxxing with bbmpeg. tmpgenc sometimes does a piss poor job muxxing svcds... other than that, i dunno what to tell you.
