  1. I downloaded a movie and converted it to a VIDEO_TS folder using ULEAD DVD FACTORY on a PC. Then I transfered the files to my G4 tower.

The movie plays fine in Apple DVD player but it is over 4.3 gigs, so I use DVD2ONE to shrink the VIDEO_TS folder to fit on one DVD. Then after burning the DVD-r the audio loses sync towards the end of the DVD (about 30 minutes from the end). I have burned many DVD's this way and have only had this happen twice.

Does anyone know why this happened.

    Thanks,
    SaintAZ

Its got to be something in your conversion process on the pc.

DVD2ONE doesnt do anything to the audio, it only drops frames in video, so its not possible for the sync issue to be coming from the dvd2one side of things.

  3. That is why this is so weird. Before I use DVD2ONE the audio is fine, so it has to be DVD2ONE. The DVD has chapters and the audio goes out of sync at the start of one of the chapters. Also, when I say out of sync I mean that the audio is off by about 20min not just a few seconds.

I can't wait for DVD studio pro2 to come out so I don't have to use the PC for this anymore.

    Thanks,

Which audio track are you using? My guess is DVD2OneX is most effective when using the Dolby Digital track(s) rather than the DTS or PCM tracks that sometimes come on DVDs.

  6. What program did you change to?

  7. I've used DVD2ONE for OSX daily since it was released. Never once had a sync issue. So I'm inclined to believe it has to do with how the dvd was authored. Something in the authoring process is making DVD2ONE choke on it. I think you should back up and re-trace your steps.

It would have been better if you did this before hand instead of creating a topic where you put the fault upon a perfectly good program. Instead of coming to the more realistic conclusion of the problem being an operator error.

Alot of times homemade discs play perfectly fine on a computer. Try actually playing it on a real set top. More than likely it would have problems. Being able to play a dvd file off a hard drive properly is no indication that it will actually work.
