  1. My friend and I have recently taken on a Digital video production. We filmed, and got the video to Premere, edited it, and exported it with Premere's "AVI DV" setting. We then took this file, and tried to get it on DVD.

First, we tried encoding it to MPEG-2 using Virtual Dub and TMPGEnc. I split the audio from the video just fine in virtual dub, but when encoding in TMPGEnc, i recieved an error.

We tried encoding to MPEG-2 from Premere to skip the converting process, but Premere has some problems. When trying to encode to MPEG-2 from Premere, it finishes apparently ok. But, when playing the file, the movie ends shortly.

How do i get to MPEG-2 so I can burn to DVD?

  2. Well, I have done exactly what you tried first (export from prmiere as DV, encode in TmpGenc), several times with home movies and not had any problems. It seem to me that if we can fix the error you get in TmpGenc then you would be home. If you tell us what the error message was someone might be able to come up with a solution.
