I'm having problems burning media at 2x with my A03.

Here's the deal, 4x media is suposed to write at 2x with the 2.00 firmware update, I've even read a post about Optodisc 4x writing at 2x in the A03.

4x media that only burns at 1x
Optodisc
Accu/DupEz (Lead Data)
Prime Disc (Gigastorage)
Ritek 4x (*)

TDK branded 2x also only burns at 1x with TDK media ID.
CMC certified 2x only burns 1x.

Good 2x burns-
Verbatim 2x and 4x (MCC media ID)
Samsung 4x
Maxell/Apple 2x
Pioneer 2x (PVC media ID)
Mitsui 2x
Ritek 4x (*)

Can someone confirm 2x burns they've done on the Pioneer A03 without a hacked firmware?

*Some Ritek 4x burn at 2x, some only at 1x. Which is understandable considering the problems Sony DRU users have with the same media.

The drive is on IDE channel 2, master. I've tried both PIO mode 4 and DMA, no difference.
