I have burnt an NTSC SVCD and it plays back in my Sony DVP-NS330 player in black and white. The box is originally PAL and supposedly fixed to be multi region. I have also tried a hack 'success' but it still didnt play the NTSC DVD or SVCD in colour. The sound is perfect and not out of sync with the pictures, just in black and white.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks
P.

This is a NTSC/PAL issue. Ensure that both your television and DVD player are set to NTSC mode. If that fails and you've torn out your hair with frustration, then re-encode it to PAL format and see if it works.
I only dream in black & white...
