Just wondering if its possible to burn DVD format to a CDR. I have a short video segment (10 minutes max) that i want to burn at the best possible quality. I tried VCD and SVCD and they were OK but took up very little space on the disk. So a higher resolution dvd quality mpeg2 should fit on a CDR. Is there a program that will let you burn dvd to cdr? If so will it be recognized as a standard dvd in any standalone dvd player?

What you are trying to create is called a MiniDVD. Unfortunately most standalone players do not support this format. Check the DVD Players Compatibility list on the left for more info.
