A VCD will play in any CD-Rom drive. It doesn't need a DVD drive to play - only DVD's need a DVD drive to play...

The PC is much more forgiving than a standalone. I'd still suggest you simply find someone willing to test it for you. Many people simply would take it to the electronics store and play it on one of their players (assuming of course it's not pornographic in nature... ). They should have no problem with you using it as a test disc.

Yea, what he said, You can use any media player. Just click on thr drive that ur vcd is in, then click on the mpeg folder, then click on the avsq thingy or whatever it iscalled(been awhile). If you want it to run automatically then try VCD cutter, pop in the disc, open vcd cutter and then click on FILE scroll down to PLAY VCD. Again, the computer is less forgiving than a dvd player, so if You're selling these discs with-out testing on a dvd player then you're not a shrewed dealer.

Other way around... the computer is much more forgiving. It will play odd formats and weird combinations of video and audio codecs without blinking. It will also smoothly play a VCD which may stutter on the stand alone. The real solution is to blow the $49.57 for a Norcent player from Walmart.
