Hi I am trying to have ati mmc capture divx as a format . the only way that it look like you can do this is to select-> CUSTOM in the vcr setup menu-> select AVI -> then pick the codec i see a huge list when i pick DIVX 5.0.5 but the configure button for it is greyed out. With out it it caputres divx in YuYv resoluiton that are so huge. only 3 other codec's in avi i can select configure but i dont want to use them since they are unkowns and they dont compress. i tried this on 2 pc's with divx 5.o.3 divx same result.
Is this a non compatibility thing with ati mmc 7.7 and divx
Just wondering if anyone knows what else i can use as a mpeg 4 compressor with the ati pvr by gemstar guide plus.
I haven't asked ati since they are dumb at support.
any ideas that i can use to edit mmc to configure divx for capturing , virtual dub doesnt have a program guide or i wont be trying this

Yes I am trying to accomplish the same thing here please some one clue me in. can this be done.
thanks -
Can't be done. You must be using MMC 8.0 or above. Download that from ATI's website/

ATI tends to drop frmaes badly on both WMV and DIVX anyway, as it is software capture oly, no hardware assists. May not be worth it. Capture AVI/MPG first and convert later. Most cards capture with lots of drops when trying to use WMV/DIVX/etc.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
