what do i do?

okay, i recently downloaded one of my favourite movies... this has been happening to me ALL of the time. I get the thing, and it's split up into a bunch of .rar files, now, i know im suppsoed to extract the .rar, and i did that for the first 2 cds, but there always seems to be a problem with the last one! there is no .rar file. just .r01, r02 r03 etc... what do i do?

it doesn't work to extract te last cd, ever. they come in .bin/.cue files.

you need to find the .rar file. without it, you're out of luck.

unless there were .PAR files uploaded as well - if so, you can reconstruct some of the missing info, possibly enough to make up for the missing .RAR file.

do a Google search on .PAR files if you need instructions - I know how they work, but I havne't used them, so I don't know what software you need or how to use it.

hi dan matey, im new to this dvd converting stuff but m8 when it comes down to svcd's etc i know some stuff.right u downloaded a film and it came as one rar file correct?u then make a new folder and extract ur file to that new folder. it should then make cd1 folder and a cd2 folder. providing its a complete film!!! if in cd 2 its missing say 25 files this is how u do it!!! 1. hopefully u use mirc(irc) go in to a well known channel and look for incomplete warez and in there u'll be able to request the missing files u have(u need to request them in a specail way) explains in the channels. the only prob there is ur limited to 5 request perday? 2. go in to irc spy and type some like,(say its matrix reloaded cause this happened to me he he) matrix reloaded missing files, and i ended finding someone whos advertising thos missing files and i just downloaded them and prob solved. 3. if there tar files which i reckon they might be, just use winzip and thats it mate. winzip tar files remember that and thats about it matey bye

Your newsreader is not properly reassembling the files. Try AGENT or OUTLOOK to read the news. Downloading 1 attachment should grab them all and re-attach the pieces. The trick? It ALL has to be up and available. If one piece is missing, the partial files are useless.

I'm only giving this advice because newsgroups are something so few people actually know about. But for future reference, please don't ask for help on your downloaded movies. That part is against forum rules, as it may be considered WAREZ.

Just for reference, newsgroups contain lots of legally homemade productions that are interesting to watch. It is not just warez.
