    Galactica...et al...

After successfully using Galactica's tutorial for 4 burns, I found that one of them would not play in my Toshiba Colorstream DVD player yet all were burned the same way. It will play on the computer. What's the problem?

You really ought to give more information, like:
    What movie
    What media
    What burn speed
    What ripper

Could this have something to do with RCE?
Region Control Enhancements...that maybe DVD BACKUP is removing partially only?
Because I had a OSX burn which would only play the Movie Company logo,
but this dissappeared when the project was burned again using TOAST not DISCCOPY...
That is to say, the same files, burned in a different program (TOAST) produced a settop player this time (altho' now I will say the brands of media changed too!-sorry I ran out!)
    Movie..SECRETARY - dvdBACKUP & DTOX
    both played on computer
    wouldn't -OPTIMUM would- TDK

Could be, id like to see if anyone else has successfully done 25th hour with no problems.

I have done over 100 dvd backups and ALL of them work for me.
Never had a single problem (other than bad media not allowing a burn)

Sorry, dont have a solution, especially since you used the method I use for burning!

    Anyone done 25th hour backup?!?!?

How exactly do you mean "the same way"? Are you doing Diskcopy, or Movie only?

I discovered last night when doing Diskcopy on disc 1 of The Beatles Anthology that even though I told DVD2OneX to strip out the DTS and PCM audio tracks, DVD2OneX still mapped the AC3 track as Audio 2, so when I popped the copy into the settop, there was no audio. I pressed the Audio button to select the AC3 track, which was annoying. Technically the disc worked, but it was just not what I expected.

(thank god i burned it on dvd-rw)

I burned 25th Hour in the "movie only" format and didn't deviate from
Galactica's tutorial (which worked perfectly with all other burns)...

I processed the files with change region coding, remove macrovision protection and remove CSS encryption.
I chose only AC3 6ch English for audio.

Still only plays on the computer. (?)

All the others you have done play in the player?
Did you switch brands of dvd-r since the others?
Can you somehow test it on another standalone dvd player?
Did you ensure there was an AUDIO_TS folder? (most likely yes since you used my tutorial)
Remove the .ds_Store files? (most likely yes since you used my tutorial)

    just thinking...

All others play; haven't switched brands of media and didn't have to remove any extraneous files. Followed your instructions to the letter and three other burns worked perfectly in my Toshiba. Will go try 25th Hour in a neighbor's DVD player. It's a great movie. Ed Norton is good in almost anything.

When it goes into the player and you hit play...it just sits there showing
the counter and doesn't move. Fast forward and hit stop... and it asks if
you want to start from this point in movie or go back to the beginning...!
    (of black).....
I'll let you know if it plays elsewhere..
    Always appreciative...Tallylite
