    Can someone please tell me what is currently the cheapest
    available DVD-recorder (device) for home use?
    Has there been any annoucement of even cheaper DVD-recorders to be out in the near future? If yes please give me the link to their site.

    The most popular is a DVD-R burner from Pioneer, costing around $600, and a DVD-R burner from Panasonic for $500.
