i have a dvd player that says it supports svcd's. i burned an svcd but when i went to play it, i got nothing??? anyone have any clue what's up???
it plays vcd's just fine

I found that with my older Pioneer DV-535, if I burned at more that 8x sometimes it would refuse to play it, but would instead insist that it was a CD, with nothing on it at all.
Try burning it at a lower speed. Also, if you've burned to a CD-RW, does your player support this?
If this doesn't help, could you please post up more details about your DVD player such as make and model? This would help those who are more experienced than myself to tell you how to resolve the problem.
