I just got the Liteon LVD-2001 and I have a couple of problems and questions. If anyone could help I would appreciate it
I also have a Samsung HCL44715W 16X9 1080i TV
First: if I use 1080i and also have a cable hooked up to the 'svideo out' the picture is distorted. This does not happen if I use 480p.
Second: if I use component video at all every thing is distored to fill the entire 16x9 screen. I have played with the screen size settings. (whats the differenc between 4:3 letterbox and 4:3 pan?)
If all I do is switch to svideo I get the correct picture.
Third: there is a noticable flicker (especially on subtitles) when I use 1080i.
In short 1080i is useless and to a lesses extent 480p.
I would like to use it since my TV supports it.
I think I may have a deffective unit and am going to return it if I cannot get it to work. It was mail order so returning it is going to be akward.
Thanks
p.s
I upgrade the bios to 229 before I tried any of this, oops.

No, just two component inputs one for 480p/1080i the other for 480/i480p
plus svideo and composit. -
did you use the p-scan button to change between the settings, I think you also have to set the aspect ratio to 16x9.
