Hi, I am having a problem with DVD WORKSHOP and my MMC drivers, It doesnt seem to matter what version of MMC I use. If I have the MMC installed when I open DVD WORKSHOP it crashes, Says fatal error or some crap and closes the workshop. It works fine if I dont have MMC installed

Have any of you ran into a simalair problem?

I am using the ASUS A7N8X

DVD WS 1.0 and 1.2 work well with ATI MMC.
DVD WS 1.3 does not work with ATI MMC.

My Ulead WS 1.3 worked fine with MMC 8.1

But since updating to MMC 8.5 WS 1.3 wont capture without crashing, I haven't tried going back to 8.1 as I suspect some of the registry info from 8.5 will still cause a conflict.... Maybe when I have more time to try it...

Can I still DL DVD WS 1.2? If so where can I get it? Also what features will I lose by going back to DVD WS 1.2, Also I was using MMC 8.1 and it did not work fine on my system. Heck I have tried every version of MMC that I could find since I though that the MMC drivers were the problem since ATI in known for there buggy software.

Does any one know if either side is working towards a fix?

Had the same problem a while back. I was using the crappy on board sound on my ASUS A7m266. I put in a cheapo SB16 sound card, re-installed Windows and all is well now. Using MMC 8.1 and DVDWS 1.3.

Are you saying this problem could have something to do with me using the on board sound?

No, I am saying that I had a problem with the onboard sound. I am not familiar with your mobo. I was just trying to give you some ideas on how to troubleshoot your problem.

OK, thanks I think I checked to see if the audio drivers were causing the problem. If I remember correctly they are bundled with the other motherboard drivers.

So can I still DL DVD WS 1.2? If so where can I get it? Also what features will I lose by going back to DVD WS 1.2

Also does anyone know if they are working towards a fix.

I realize that this is slightly off topic, but does MMC 8.1 capture .AVIs with 720 x 480 frame sizes? I may by one of the new Radeon crads in order to get ths upgrade. I currently have the old AIW 16MB and MMC 6.3 was able to capture .AVIs with these frame sizes. I now have Win XP Professional and MMC 7.2 only allows 720 x 240 maximum. I can capture I-Frame MPEGs, but I done't like the quality loss resulting from transcoding. Sorry for being long winded here.
