  1. Hey guys,

I've asked this question before with no response, and have looked all over the internet for a guide but was unsuccessful there as well. Does anyone know a good guide that will show you how this is done, or possibley a program out there that will do it for you,

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

  2. What you need to do is basically 2 things, changing the video and the audio speed.

    1: Video
Use TMPGEnc and select a suitable encoding preset (check dvdrhelp.com for examples). Change the ENCODING framerate to 23.976 but KEEP the SOURCE framerate at 25 (PAL STANDARD). Under the advanced tab, check the box "Do not frame rate convert"(or something similar). Also, under Endode Mode choose "3:2 pulldown during playback". Hit encode and get a cup of coffee. When this is done, you will notice that the NTSC version is longer than the PAL version, about 4% to be exact. Why? Simpy because if you have 60 seconds of PAL video, the number of frames are 1500. To prevent the video to be jerkey, you cannot keep the length, but rather the number of frames. The thing is that it plays back at a lower rate (23.796) which will make the clip of 1500 frames (1500 / 23.976~=62.5) 62.5 seconds. This will lead into part 2.

    2: Audio
You need to transcode the audio. This basically means that you "stretch" the audio to fit the new video file. Use BeSweet for that, see the guide on dvdrhelp.com

    Good Luck!
