I use Pinnacle Studio 8.5 to capture video from my DV camcorder via Firewire. I have great success with it, all the way to burning DVD+Rs and viewing them on my stand-alone DVD player. However, Studio 8.5 captures the video in DV format, which I then have to encode into DVD-compliant MPG format. Is there any software available that will capture video from my Firewire connection and save it automagically in DVD-compliant MPG format, so all I have to do when the capture completes is burn? I'm guessing not, but I wanted to hear what y'all had to say.

Some software might be able to encode it "on the fly", but it would take a pretty fast computer. Try DVD Movie factory, maybe.
