Whats your budget and location? System specifications, i.e. CPU speed, RAM and operating system. In the end it will be your choice. You can read all day and get answers all day, but the folks on this site have used just about every make of burner out there and media. Check out the OTHER section to the left here, DVD writers. You'll get a mix of responses. Good luck.

make sure you know everything about the single-layer vs dual-layer issue 1st.

If you're refering to Commercial DVDs, then it won't happen. Pressed DVDs can hold much more information that the burnable types. Thus making a 1:1 copy impossible if the DVD is over 4.4GB.

  8. the older ones are single layer...i think the ones made 4 years ago and older...u also need to make up your mind if u want plus or minus or even boht (i would not)....i decided to buy the A05 as it is cheap and good. the minus medias are currently cheaper then the plus. if u want a dual format wait for the A06 and the reviews....if u want a plus i guess buy a good TDK
