I've found a few good sites for covers & have noticed a lot of them use "custom" work involving poster art as a source.
Does anyone know of a few good links to get hi-res poster art? If you go to a "regular" poster site the images are nowhere near good enough to use on a hi-res quality cover.
I'd appreciate any help anyone can give!

that's the one thing i hate about the net. you can never find any good quality photos cuz everyone's always obsessed with size and getting everything under 200 kb.

Thanx p_l, but I know that one & that's what Conquest10 meant (and myself). I only go there if I can't find a cover ANYWHERE else.
But, that's not what I'm looking for anyway. For those of you that do your "custom" cover using posterart pics have to have a few sources for your images. I doubt you scan an actual poster! I'm asking for links to good high quality "poster" sites.
Anybody who likes to get more creative than the studios decided to, give me a tip here. The stuff I've found just doesn't cut it.

When I make video covers, I use SureThing (ST). I capture images directly from the videos, place borders around them, select ST's background (of which they a truckload to choose from), place the text anywhere I want, print, cut, and place! Nero has a label program as well, but I feel ST has more bells and whistles.

There are many stock photo agencies that have web services for pay use. Free stuff, no ideas.

I've found a lot of good poster art on ebay. When people are selling, they often use a hi-res image. You can find stills and posters, lobby cards, and more for movies from the silent days to the present. The only down side is that the images are usually only available a week or so.
I don't know what the copyright implications of this are -- but the people selling the posters, etc. don't own the copyrights either. And I would not be using the art for making money -- just to make covers for my own stuff.
Hope this is a helpful hint! -
I've been using DVDCoverart.com alot lately, lots of good high rez stuff there, but it works on a credit system so you can either contribute or pay, to get credits.
