I started trying to convert real media files with EO VIDEO. It is extreamily, extreamily slow. Is there any faster way to go about this? ALso. With EO video is it posible to just convert rm to avi; and then with tmpge go from avi to mpeg?
Please help me.

I use Tinra to convert realmedia to avi. Last time I checked it's listed in the tools section.
The home page is:

This program is fast and converts .rm files to AVI, which is a madatory first step. From there, you can encode to MPEG-1 to make a VCD.
The .rm to .avi conversion is rather fast. A 5 minute clip will take less than a minute, maybe less. Using a proper template in Tmpgenc will give you fast results. In motion search, select very fast. It may say that it gives low quality, but low quality is usually what you have in .rm, so why waste time...The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
I found that the latest version of EO Video (v1.35) is now a lot faster than the older versions.

I agree, try using EO Video 1.35 to encode RM to VCD, shame it can't do MPEG2 at all, yet ????????
