  1. Guess this is a total newbie question but here it goes. Does it really matter on what video card I get for a capture/encoding setup. I don't need it to capture since I already have a dac-100. Will a Radeon or GeForce really make that much of an impact on performance? Hope someone can answer this. Thanks in advance.

    Definitly NOT!!!

Your graphics card has nothing to do with the encoding quality!!!
It is the software that gives different quality... TMPGEnc is probably the best encoder there is!!! It is slow... But quality is excellent!!!
Fast CPU could improve encoding speed, but you could encode during the night!!!

Your graphics card might come into play when you are editing. I've had good luck with junky onboard video working with DV.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
