I'm getting a bit frustrated now. I purchased a new ADVC-100 box with a view of getting some captured HQ PAL AVI files turned into pristine NTSC SVCD's. I'm not having much luck.
I have tried (using scenalyser) to capture type 1 and 2 dv files and then convert them to a useable NTSC SVCD MPG file. Whatever I try, I either get ghosting (where previous frames and the current frames appear on the screen during fast motion) or stuttering video which jutters regularly or wherer frames are breaking up horizontally (are these interlacing issues?) frame which All of these are exibited using test clips which have some screen motion which feature scrolling credits and camera panning.
I've tried various templates in TPMPGenc and buring off lots of test SVCDs but none seem to work.
Since I don't know what to do next I thought I'd ask here.
Q1. Which file DV file file type should I use to capture, and does anyone have other DV capture software which does a good job?
Q2. What do other people use to get the best results from NTSC to PAL and/or DV to SVCD.
I must be doing something wrong as my source (DSAT) is excellent. It just goes wrong when I capture and convert.
HELP!!
Thanks in advance.
