  1. I'm converting from DVD to SVCD.
When I convert a short piece of the movie everything works fine. When I do the whole movie I get an error message.

    I use DVD2AVI -> Virtualdub -> CCencoder(4 pass) method.
In Virtualdub I use some crop/resize and a vobsubtitle filter.

After the first pass in CC Encoder I get the following error message:
    --------------------------------------------------------
cce encoding failed: Error: Video check-su, is different from that of previous pass.
Source video data or time code may be different
Please check video tape or the information file
    --- information ---
    Current: check sum = 0128fd9f
    Previous: check sum = 0128eecf
    --------------------------------------------------------

Is it possible (due to a bug) that the virtualdub filters return a different frame during the 4 passes of CC?

    Any help is very appreciated!
    Thxs in advance!

  2. I have seen that error a few times using the DVD2SVCD method.

Every time I have seen it, I have just retried and it worked fine

When I've had this problem it has been due to either trying to encode audio at the same time or setting DCT to automatic, i.e. don't encode audio at the same time and set DCT to a fixed number (such as 10).

  5. I'm not encoding video and audio at the same time.
But DCT was set to automatic.
So I'll try again with DCT=10 this time.

I really hope this works. It is a bit frustrating to wake up each morning with no encoding results.

Thanks for the advice!!!! I was really stuck here.

  6. I still have no clue how to prevent this error.

I tried a small DivX AVI file (30Mb) this time.
I loaded it into "CC Encoder SP", set it to 4pass VBR and
after the 1st pass - the error message pops up again.

Surely some (advanced) Cinemacraft users must know the solution to this.

Come on guys - help me out please!

Let me guess... you are frameserving from VDub to CCE... and perhaps even under W2K?

Frame serve into AVISynth, from AVISynth into VFAPI and from VFAPI into CCE. Worked for me.

    See http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=49203&forum=3

    good luck.

  8. In my latest test I just loaded an AVI file into CCEncoder and let the thing run for 4 passes!
After the first pass I got the error message:
"Video check-sum is different from that of previous pass."

    No frameserving - only CCE!!
Does this program work at all????
