  1. Hi

Can Instant Copy 7 compress audio? What I want to do is leave th main soundtrack to a movie as it is but gain space for extra video quality by compressing things like the soundtrack to the extras and Directors commentries. Is this possible?

  2. Nothing like a straight answer eh?

However, I'd like to know if there are any DVD to DVDR programs that are able to compress the audio streams as well as the video. I have some music DVD's which contain uncompressed PCM Stereo Audio and this takes up A LOT of space, leaving very little for the video.

So if anyone knows of such a program or at least a simple(ish) way of doing this I'd be very grateful...

    Thanks

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I understand I can extract the audio and convert it, but can I then incorporate it back into the vob set? I want to keep the menus, extras and other audio streams intact. Is this possible?

    Thanks

yes, but you have to demux the video and reauthor with the new audio track

try using Scenarist or DVDMaestro both work excellent

  7. OK, thanks jarvis, but will I be able to keep the original menus aswell?
Do I import the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder into scenarist/maestro?
I've never used those packages before...

    Thanks again for your help,

    oh boy,
if you have never used either package before i'm afraid you might be out of luck
scenarist is VERY expensive and Maestro is not sold anymore
so if you were going to use it just for this one DVD it would most certainly be better to buy a few extra copies of the DVD than to spend the money for scenarist
