When doing the /list *** command to find channels w/a certain word/phrase in the channel name/topic, are there channels that hide themselves from showing up in the /list results?

I've noticed that doing a full channel list gives me results for approx 23,600 of 24,300 channels on an EFnet server. Do those 700 or so channels keep themselves from showing up or is there something else entirely at work here?

Yep, lots of channels are "Secret"(not listed in the channels list).

i've searched for files before, but never a channel, alot of channels with the best stuff keep themselves hidden.

So when I'm talking to someone, asking about something and they say "Oh, join #****" and I do a /list it won't show up if the mods don't want it to?

Kinda sucks; I like knowing where I'm going before I get there. Meh.
