Since installing dvdsp, I didn't pay much attention to an app named "Compressor" that was additionally installed. I figured it was just a batch utility for the Apple encoder.
Now I hear that Compressor does not use the same encoding for mpeg 2 and may produce better results. The interface looks nice along with the choice of pre-sets and filters, But I'm wondering if it's a logical choice and better than using the Apple mpeg 2 encoder
Anyone with any experience using Compressor? How do you like it?

its an encoder made by apple as well.. as is the whole dvd studio pro 2.0 suite.. if u had 1.5 you will notice the mpeg-2 encoder in quicktime has more options and is actually slower than the one from 1.5, but it is also capable of 1 pass and 2 pass vbr which is ever slower but higher quality.... it all depends on what you want.. if you are satisfied with cbr and wanter speed rather than quality use cbr settings in either encoder (compressor or qt) they both use the same core engines.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine

Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition leaving all these opportunities behind.
