  1. first of all i'm not looking for any info about how to encode AC3's to anyting , i aleady know how to do that perfectly. the problem i'm having with AC3's right now is that not a single player of mine will play my files on my computer without crashing before it evne starts playing. i've used realone, windows media, divx player, winamp, etc. i've got the right filters installed and everything, but it keeps crashing. it's not anything with a video codec either, because i've got everything i need there too. just curious if anyone has had the same problem before or has any idea whats wrong ...

WinDVD plays ac3 files and after installing AC3 Codec, found in tools section, WMP6.4 would plaly them.

If you know everything and have everything, why are you asking for help.

Evidently you don't know something, or don't have what you need.

Just make sure the sampling rate of your .ac3 file is 48khz. sampling rate of 44.1khz just won't play. (I learned from experience)
