    I have a movie with Ac3 but the volume seems to be very low. i have to turn the volume up all the way just to hear it. I know how to extract and fix the wav file but is there a way to increase the volume of the file before authoring it into vob format?

    convert the ac3 to mpa/mp2 format with besweet or whatever tool you prefer you can set the gain level with that
    if you want the ac3 for dd 5.1 the just go from ac3 to ac3 in besweet
    though you will need an ac3 filter and azid plugin to use besweet for dd
