  1. When trying to cut a 1.2GB in two smaller parts, the last part of the file renders too small. Presumably, it should be about 600MB, but it is only 250MB. The content also stops short (long before 'The End').
TMPGEnc renders about 1595 frames of 4000+, and thinks it has done a great job.

The original file is (I think) vcd-compliant. This happens to just about any big mpg file.

    What is wrong??

Are you sure you're cutting it properly. I've never known TMPGenc to not cut properly without giving an error message.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  3. I think so.
I am moving the slider back and forth, and setting the marks accordingly.
    Can this be done differently?

TMPGEnc doesn't give me an error message.

  4. It could be just that the pc is running out of oomph.Try rebooting immediately before cutting each half.
We've sometimes found that the demultiplexing bit didnt work properly earlier in our encoding process (same reason as above)and not having checked the files before re encoding ,have ended up with only part of a film despite the fact that it encoded and cut perfectly.
we have ram booster on our pc and running this between processes helps a lot.

  5. I doubt it is my computer running out of oomph also.
I can do rather heavy DV editing in Studio 8 without hassle.
    I run XP1800 with 512 DDR RAM.

I also tried rebooting the pc and running TMPGEnc with the same file. I got the usual result; it stops at 1595 frames.

This is not something that happens every once in a while. It happens with every large file I try.

    Any suggestions?
