Help me--can't burn with DVD+R media

To begin with I'm using a Sony DRU500A (firmware c) for burning. I have burned several successful movies with DVD-R media but thought I would give the +R media a shot. What is happening (in Ulead Movie Factory) just before the writing to disc completes and it switches to closing disc it ejects the disc and prompts me that the operation was completed successfully--but there is nothing on the disc. So I tried to burn with Nero and just when it was finishing with writing to disc it gave me an error stating that it was unable to complete write at once and terminated the operation. It has to be something on my end the media(+R) is the Verbatim plus at Sams and on the DVD Media section that seemed to work well with the Sony burners. Please help.

I solved the problem, seems my firmware for the Sony was 1c not 2c so when I updated to 2f plus downloaded the DVD patch for Ulead all went well. Even though there were no posts on this thread I was still helped by you fine folks on other threads. Again thanks goes out to great group of people.
