question on the new lite-on ldw-400d

i been getting good advice in this forum on which burner to get, but now i found this new lite-on ldw-400d 4x is available for total of $293. it's suppose to be the same as sony's dru500ax under lite-on label. i cant find any current reviews on it and i'm wondering if anyone out there now's if it's just as good? or should i go with pioneers dvr-a05u? i'm new to all this and just want to make the right choice. it's only $50 more.

IF you don't need the +RW, then the pioneer is the best choise and buy some media with the cash you will save.. or get the LG drive (As I have) and get the 120$US you will save to buy a lot of media

for review on the Sony drive, look on the left and click on DVD Writer, you will find some review

and no, the Liteon is not the SOny dru500ax, it's a Sony DWU10A drive

I think he means the face of the drive, the 500a/x has that big ugly silver + white thing whereas the oem model looks like a regular dvd drive.. ?

DWU10A is the oem version of dru500ax

and Liteon drive is the same as DWU10A

Exactly my point. The 400d is NOT an OEM version, ergo its not the same as the DWU10A, its the same as the dru500ax. Minor point I know, but butthead over there wants to seperate apples and oranges.
