  1. Here is what i need to do..

I have my Japanese DVD's and i make subtitles for them i have the subs in SSA (Sub STation Alpha) i made the out of a divx of the same movie as my Japanese DVDs.

I want to make my own DVD (copy DVD) and add my own suntitles to mi finished DVD.

What software i need to do this? and what kind of subtitle format i need to convert my .SSA?

    Thanks guys.

  2. So you want to make digital fansubs on DVD with selectable subtitles. No problem (well one small one). This is actually fairly easy:

    1) Go to http://www.doom9.org and d/load 'MaestoSBT'. MaestroSBT will load the SSA file and generate a series of BMP files for each line in the script and a timed text file (I know that it can output to DVD Maestro format I'm sure it does others as well).

    2) You can then need to re-author the DVD with your new subtitle stream. The only point where it gets tricky is sync. If you made digital DivX files then you know that some SSA script files need to be shifted or ramped to maintain sync based on the speed on your PC.

I author with DVD Maestro, there are other programs that will accept subtitles (but I don't know them off hand). You might want to re-post and ask. It might be possible to just add a subtitle stream with IFOEdit (which would be ideal as it saves you from having to re-author the whole disc).

Good luck. I've done some LD cpatured of LoGH -> DVD fansubs with good results (save for playing around with the ramp settings to keep everything in sync).

  3. Oh.. im starting to understand the point...

So the file i need to do this is a text file, result of the SSA imported/exported with MaestoSBT.

Ok, then i must author the dvd from the begining.. umm that seems kinda easy.. But.. to be sure.. is there any guide that shows how to do this? not dvd authoring there a lot of them here.. But i havent seen any guide talking of adding your own subs to a DVD.

    Thanks again!
