This may be of help to anyone thinking of using the ezdv and advc100 just for analogue capture of video from a vcr. If you read the manual you will find no refence as to how to do this, but after long and frustrating conversation with various people, this I think is the answer.
you open the ezvid section and then you capture "raw" by just starting the tape in your vcr and then clicking on the capture button, I cannot confirm if this works as my pc does not display this capture button , I think this is possibly to do with my graphic card, although it states that it supports directx it would appear not to support directoverlay, I am assuming that this means that part of the ezvideo screen is not displaying correctly, i order foor me to complete the capturing. will hope to solve this by installing another graphics card. But would like to point out that Canopus should include this information somewhere in the manual as I don't see any reference to this I have spent over a week trying different methods that have been very frustrating, and have also found no reference to how to do it, there is no mention of doing "raw crash capturing" anywhere in any of the forums and as a newbie to this thought it would have been , Hope this will be of help, taken me a long time to find it out.
