I currently have two DVD burners (actually 3, but only 2 are hooked up). I have the TDK 440n multi format and also an external Lacie DVD-R(Pioneer DVR105).
My questions are:
1) Can I burn 2 DVD movies at the same time?
2) Will that cause any underrun problems?
3) Will it cause any picture quality compared to burning one at a time?
4) Has anyone here this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i dont think it will work because if u read the other tutorials it says when u ripping or burning a dvd movie u should leave ur pc alone till its done otherwise it may freeze up and u may have to start all over from scratch

i burn up to 6 at a time .. no problems , they are all connected via firewire and either in cases or part of a duplicator ..
i use prassi 2.0 and prassi 2.0 special edition (for duplicators) .. -
oh - and all of them are pioneer 104's or 105's ..
it doesnt effect picture quality ..
commercial duplicators work the same way .. (the ones that burn dvd-r that is) - some dup 10-12 at a time .. -
won't be a problem... just make sure your HD can read fast enough to support both streams.

Can I just point out here that if you're trying to do 2 different movies at the same time, you might get software conflicts - some utilities allow you to use more than one drive simultaneously, but to the best of my knowledge these have always been for making more than one copy of the same content at the same time.
Why would anyone want to make more than one backup of their own stuff that quickly, though... -

There are a few companies who still knock out software on recordable media, the company I work for are one, but the technical assistance is administered strictly in house. -
several of my pioneers are in duplicators -- so i should have said that ..

hmmmmm if you are trying to burn two dvds from the 2 dif burners and they are conected on the same IDE cable you will have probs as there is so much data being sent along the cable you could try plugging two sep IDE cables 2 your board but i doubt this would work worth a try though!!!!!!

Rob he said one is connected to firewire so no they arn't on the same chain. I would say yes its very possible to burn 2 dvd's at the same time even if was different movies. Since your talking firewire i am guessing it maxes out at 2x recording which is what 2.5mbps??? and lets say the other burner is the same so that is 5mbps out of what most computers can do a constant of atleast 10mbps while you will get higher peaks and due to the fact i believe most dvd burners have buffer underrun protection you wont have to worry about getting bad dvd's
