  1. OK i have a question in regards to menu creation with ULead DVD workshop.

When creating a menu, i have thumbnails, and text.

However when i go to simulate, the selection colour surrounds the entire thumbnail, rather than just the frame. In DVD MF2, it automatically surrounds only the frame of the thumbnail. Is there any way to make it like this in DVD Workshop??? I will post pictures to properly clarify what i am talking about.

The above picture is made with DVD Workshop. The selection colour covers the entire frame aswell as the thumbnail, and it looks stupid.

The above picture is made with DVD Movie factory 2. By default, the selection colour only covers the frame of the thumbnail rather than the entire picture.

Is there any way to create a menu, like the 2nd picture, using DVD Workshop?? Because other than this drawback, it is much more customisable than DVD Movie factory 2.

    Yes, you can do it.

I don't have screen images as I am on a PC without it installed at present, but when you are in the "Menu" part of editing, if you click on the button and then check the left panels (under the "button" tab, I think) you will find a set of selections that you can determine whether it selects the border, innards or both.

Once you have it working as you like, use the copy attributes feature to make other buttons the same.

    PS
If you used the Wizard to create the menu, you need to do the convert thingee so you can edit it first.
The glass is neither half-full, nor half-empty.
It is simply twice as big as it needs to be.

  4. Thanks. I had already found the answer though, but i have another question.

This time i have created the menu and everything.

I create a frame for a button, and drag the video in there, and it links it automatically, however the preview will only be for the first frame of the movie. ie: the thumbnail on the menu will be of the first frame of the video, and i CAN'T find ANYTHING to change it. It gives you an option CHANGE THUMBNAIL in MF2, isnt there such a thing in this program???

Setting the thumbnail image could be a lot more intuitive in DVDWS IMHO.

I don't have the app on my work PC, but try this:

Go into the Edit tab (where your video file can be played from), move your slider until you find a frame you like, then right click on the video window and you should see an option to set chapter thumbnail to the current frame.
