  1. i use osex to rip the DVD.
    but: sometimes the .vob has no sound!
    with VLC in the menu “language“, the sound worx,
    but when i use ffmpeg, no sound was encoded.....

    what i do wrong?

    It depends on what you are doing with ffmpegx. encoding a .vob to mpeg2 the mpeg2 will not have sound! Unless you specifically tell ffmpegx to encode the sound and set the encoding options in the AUDIO tab.

    There are an infinate number of encoding options you can have ffmpegx do, so you have to tell us what you are trying to do?

    .vob to what??? svcd? vcd? dvd?

    Selecting the .vob as your source and ensuring both VIDEO and AUDIO tabs have the ENCODED box checked will ensure that your conversion has sound. (if you have everything set properly in ffmpegx)

    As long as the .vob plays in VLC with sound! your encoding can have sound if you set it properly.
