Since my CD-RW burner bit the dust, I think I'd like to go DVD for the vastly improved capacity.
I run (only) Linux, (currently RedHat 9) as M$ is way in my past, so it is critical the drive is supported and there are drivers / burner / toaster software for it. I run an i686 AMD system with 512 mb ram nVidea card with 32 mb, if that is relevent
The other factor that is relevent is that my goal is data storage and backup. I don't see video or any other use in the forseeable future.
Price point is also important but not the sole determining factor.
What are your recomendations as to mfg. / model / best price place to buy?
TIA,
Ken
