    I just completed this game last night, thought it was great - but could have been a little longer.

    Any of you guys played it? what did you think? anyone playing the deathmatch game - which incidentally also rocks.

    Girlie bought it for me for Christmas, but it's still in the cellophane wrapper.

    I'm waiting for broadband (about a week to go now ) before installing it as there will probably be a hugh 200Mb patch to download.
    Regards,

    Rob

    Yeah, stumped up for a 2meg line from Pipex. First thing I'm goung to do is reformat and reinstall XP an all three of the PCs in the house because it's been seven months since I could update anything on them - might as well start from scratch.
    Regards,

    I liked HL2 a lot. I was very dissapointed with Doom3 and bought HL2 primarely for Counter Strike:Source. I was surprised at how good HL2 was. It's one of the best games I've played in some time. CS:Source kicks ass too. Old style gameplay with awesome graphics. I play it a couple of hours a week. I played Hl2 deathmatch a few times but I prefer CS:Source.

    I like that the delopers a constantly add new features to CS:Source. Every now and then there is a new official map and improvements. You can never have that on XBOX with Halo2 (BOOOOOO) LOL just kidding. .

  9. I played it through once. There were parts I liked a lot, and others that were just tedious. However, I need to go through it again now that I have a better idea of how things work....

    Well there's probably only 15 hours or so in the single player game, but i found it hard to stop playing every time. There's a big variety of gameplay, a few puzzles (not like "move round the cups/books/pictures to open the magic door" kinda things, just some situations you need to use your head) some driving, plenty of shooting, a bit of stealth - just a nice mixture. The deathmatch is great too, one weapon in paticular makes it great fun - those who played the game will know which one i mean

    @rhegedus

    It did update when i installed, only took about a minute and i'm on 600k, but once it's done you can set it in "offline" mode to play without a net connection.

    It takes time to get good at Counter Strike, I been playing it for like 4 years now. The first time I tried, I hated because I kept getting killed. If you don't want to dl maps, stick to official maps.

    yeah, i dunno just for some reason i like deathmatch better. as far as maps go its whatever that admin of the server wants to play. there really is no official server and only like 2 official maps in hl2 deathmatch
