A strange problem, this one. I have this movie and the (non-reencoded) M2V timecode is 00:59:58:05. After some trial and error (messing with the timecode options in SubRip and Maestro), I managed to correctly import two subtitle streams and compiled the project to see if the subtitles were OK. Previewed in PowerDVD, both subtitle options were perfect in timing, so I locked the movie tracks and moved on to creating some menus. I made four motion menus (one main menu and three chapter menus) and didn't touch anything else. Compiled again, previewed in PowerDVD and... subtitles were screwed up! For the first half of the movie there are no subs, then they start to appear in a random fashion.

I tried re-importing subtitles, taking extra care to have the same timecode in both SubRip and Maestro (either 00:00:00:00 or 00:59:58:05) and while the subtitles are correctly placed in the movie timeline, everytime I compile the project after having added the menus, the subs play havoc at playback. Can anybody offer any advice? With other movies whose M2V timecode was 00:00:00:00 or 01:00:00:00, I have succesfully managed to have both subs and menus and everything working fine, so is this funny embedded timecode to blame? And how do you permanently change the embedded timecode of an M2V file? I can change it to whatever I wish in Maestro, but after saving, closing and re-openning the project, the timecode resets to the original. Thanks for any help!
