    Possible to change the pre-recorded Media-ID (e.g. change the CD-R ID to an DVD-R ID) ?

    Should be a great hack !!
    If we can do this we can burn minidvd that are compatible on any standalone dvd player...

    No way. You will not be able to write DVD data on CD. They use different dyes. I don't even think you can change the ID on a DVD to make it look like another DVD.
