  1. I added subtitles to a DivXmovie (Am.Beauty)and encoded it by frameserving (Virtual Dub and Tmpgenc.)
It worked but the subtitles are not well synchronized.
    - How can I do this correctly before encoding...???
    - I removed the DivX from my HD...can I synchronize the
subs after the encoding to VCD(MPEG)

    Thanks...

  2. First, the subs your added your your MPEG are permant, and just part of the movie. No way to change them.

You'd have to re-encode to get everything in sync. I don't know what program you used to add subs, but assuming it was SSA you can set either the ramp or shift times, to sync everything up (do this prior to encoding). Sorry...

  3. I used (dutch) subtitles in srt.format and converted them with "SRT to SSA converter" to an SSA.file...with this convertor I couldn't do anything else...
With Virtualdub I added the subs in the DivX-movie ...can I synchronize them there??

Your suggestion is: "you can set either the ramp or shift times, to sync everything up" How and with what program do I do that???

There is a great appication called DivX Subtitle Displyer. You don't need to encode your avi file, or to convert subtitle, but just to load your subtitle file with this app, and start your media player. It worx together with media player, and when you stop or pause mp, this subtitle displayer will aloso stop.

I need to encode, cause I want to make a VCD to watch in my DVD-player (stand-alone)
So I must before encoding synchronize the file with the subs with the divx/avi
